Dharma Wheel #01

Being an artist poses endless challenges.

For myself these include periods of intense doubt - followed by moments of soaring hubris.

Painting is like that; from staring at the blank canvas (terrifying) to adding that last, perfectly placed drop of paint.

But once that paint dries the truth of what’s been created is revealed.

More often than not, the work falls somewhere in between those two extremes.

When the work falls short I know it.

If the works truly good I know that too.

At the risk of being hubristic I am very pleased with the first in a new series of works titled: Dharma Wheel.

This painting just works. But it only came together at the very end.
